Facilities-1

With a library, sports grounds, arts facilities, and computing suites, we are able to provide our pupils with a wide-ranging curriculum beyond the classroom.

Library

Our children love their weekly library sessions and enjoy browsing the shelves and choosing their new book. We emphasise reading for pleasure and aim to introduce the children to books that will expand their horizons. The library has something for everyone, from picture books and books for new readers, to short novels, classics and non-fiction.

Sports Grounds

We are fortunate to have two off-site venues and three on-site venues including an outdoor area, sports hall, and a gymnastics and dance studio. Our major sports are rugby, football, cricket and netball. Our other venues mean we can teach sports such as tennis, hockey, swimming, volleyball and High 5 netball as part of our extensive programme. We also have numerous competitions against other schools at home and away.

Dance Studio

With the sprung floor, surrounding mirrors and barres, the Hilden House dance studio provides a good setting for classes. Clubs such as ballet, hip hop and drama take place here.

Year 6 Centre

Our brand new Year 6 Centre at Point Pleasant is designed to support pupils in their transition to secondary school and the next stage of their education. A five minute walk from the main school, this space allows our pupils to focus on their 11+ preparation in the first half of the year, and develop their independent study skills in the latter half, in an environment where their wellbeing is at the forefront.

Computing Suites

The computing facilities at The Roche give the pupils skills vital for secondary schooling and later life. Children get to grips with up-to-date technology, whether from iPads in their lessons, computers in the ICT suites, or Smartboards in their classrooms.
