Year 2 Out and About

Year 2 have been out and about on two very successful trips recently. Carrying out a short visit to our local Gurdwara in Wandsworth, they received a particularly warm welcome from the hosts, who were very impressed with the children’s knowledge of Sikhism and welcomed all their questions. . The children were so excited to be wearing headscarves as a sign of respect, that they even wore them for the journey there and back.
From RE To Geography , the next trip was also very close to home. Keen to discover the sometimes elusive River Wandle, the children started on their mission. A lot of excitement ensued around discovering places from photos and maps and trying to spot the river from various local landmarks. They went downstream to the Thames and then back up the river and around the Southside Shopping Centre, where The Wandle was then promptly swallowed up by TKMaxx… or so it seemed. They eventually spotted it again behind the Waitrose car-park and then by King George’s Park. The explorers returned to school very satisfied with their efforts.
