Summer D:Reams

It has been a busy end of school year with many memorable events including a superb Summer Concert featuring a special guest, a class performance from Year 6, the conclusion of our successful cycling initiative and special prize giving and leavers assemblies.

Everyone agreed that this year’s Summer Concert was a great success! It took place on Wednesday 3rd July at All Saints Church in Wandsworth and featured a very special guest. The gospel singer and X Factor participant Peyton. He performed an uplifting rendition of the D:Ream hit ‘Things Can Only Get Better’ with the Upper School Choir and there were brilliant performances from throughout the school. Look out for a video of the concert this summer on our website and social media platforms, and check out Peyton’s website to hear his latest release:

The day before the concert, the successful music producer and Roche parent Sir James Reynolds came into the school with a professional mobile recording studio to record the school choirs. A souvenir CD of the session will be available to all parents next term. Over the summer, we will also be publishing a video of the recording session and an interview with James. A big thank you to James for arranging the session and for bringing Peyton to perform at our Concert.

Year 6 went out in style with a magical performance of the musical Oliver! that left everyone wanting more!

Our successful sustainable travel project, the Golden Lock Award, reached its climax on Thursday 4th July with the final prizes for those who have cycled to school every Thursday over the past half-term. A golden lock was placed on a random bike during the day and the lucky recipient received the key and a prize!

Also on Thursday 4th July, we held our Prize Giving Assembly (see below) and on the last day of term, Friday 5th July, we had our Year 6 Leavers Assembly.

We wish all of those leaving The Roche School every success in their new schools and we hope that all of our pupils, parents and staff have a wonderful summer break. We look forward to seeing you all again at the start of the new term (Thursday 5th September 2019, or Monday 9th September for the Nursery).
