Nursery Wellbeing
A strong sense of wellbeing provides the foundation from which children can learn, develop and flourish. By embedding wellbeing into our daily practice and routines, we create an environment where kindness, respect and a culture of belonging can develop naturally.
We recognise that wellbeing encompasses much more than physical health. It includes children’s emotional, social and mental wellbeing, helping them to develop resilience, self-confidence and a strong sense of self. Children are encouraged to express their feelings openly and confidently, helping them to develop emotional awareness. Through guided discussions, reflection and age-appropriate activities, they learn to recognise, understand and manage their emotions in a positive and constructive way. The children are supported to build friendships, work collaboratively and develop the social skills that will support them in Nursery and as they progress through the school.
Outdoor play and physical activity are also key aspects of our approach to wellbeing. We ensure the children experience regular opportunities for active play and meaningful engagement with the natural environment fostering positive mental wellbeing. We encourage children to be curious and adventurous and to develop connections with the world around them. Our daily routines are designed to provide consistency and stability, helping children feel confident and settled. We also promote healthy eating, good personal care habits and opportunities for rest, supporting the children’s overall physical well being.
By working closely with families, we ensure that every child’s individual needs are understood and supported, creating a strong and consistent approach to well being both at Nursery and at home.
We are proud to provide an inclusive environment where children feel happy, valued and inspired to learn every day. It’s important to us that your child feels safe and happy every day.
