Dear Parents,
We were delighted by Reception’s endearing performance this morning in their class assembly. The children have been learning about different types of dinosaurs, what they ate, where they lived, and fascinating facts about these incredible prehistoric creatures. They wonderfully shared their learning along with performing fabulous songs and a dance. Thank you to Miss Lydia, Miss Alba and Miss Nikki for making such a memorable show. They have developed so much since they performed in the nativity in December.
Mrs Charlotte enjoyed a very sunny and jolly June tea party this morning in the library – we wish all our pupils with June birthdays a very Happy Birthday!
Year 5 had an enriching trip to The Globe Theatre where they had a tour and found out lots of exciting facts about the history of the theatre and why it has moved three times. They also participated in a workshop where they increased their knowledge and understanding of the play, Macbeth, which they are studying in their English lessons.
On Wednesday Year 3 visited the Shree Ganapathi Temple in Wimbledon to learn about Hinduism. The visit began with time for pupils to quietly observe the temple’s deities and architecture, as well as witnessing pooja (prayer ceremony), followed by the Abhishekam, the daily bathing ceremony of the main deity. Pupils gathered in the adjoining Sai Mandir and participated in an informative talk about Hinduism, the significance of prayer, the different deities, the history of the temple, and its multifaith aspects. The children asked thoughtful questions and engaged well with the discussion. Some pupils had the opportunity to dress in traditional Indian temple clothing and enjoyed juice and biscuits before continuing their learning activities.
Well done to our Year 5 Cayly Maths Challenge participants. The level of questions was very high and the team did admirably. Thank you to Dr Alex and Miss Julie T. who accompanied the team.
This week Nursery have been learning all about the journey to the moon. They experimented to see how craters are formed on the surface of the moon and role played a moon landing using lots of props!
