Forest School
Regular excursions to these stunning wild spaces, combined with the expert teaching of our trained Forest School teachers, encourage children to explore, play, and manage risks in a natural setting, promoting confidence, independence, curiosity, robust self-esteem, and a deep connection with nature.
Activities for younger children include building dens, creating nature art, going on rambling nature walks and participating in some very determined bug hunts. These fun-filled activities focus on the development of fine and gross motor skills through hands-on experiences. Forest school learning is child-centred and there is an emphasis on personal challenge and problem-solving. These guided activities are combined with free play opportunities which invariably include clambering over logs and digging holes.
Meaningful cross-curricular links to subjects like Science, Geography, Maths and English make for diverse and engaging woodland learning and enliven our discussions back in the classroom.
Prepare for muddy wellies and happy children.
