Dear Parents,

We were wowed by a fabulous Year 6 production, GRIMM! on Wednesday night. Full of joy, humour and heart the children performed brilliantly and sang beautifully in a show that I am sure they will remember for the rest of their lives. Thank you to Mr Lee, Miss Rachel and the team for putting it all together.

Year 2 made it to Wisley RHS gardens on Tuesday being mindful to keep in the shade. The tour was rerouted from the greenhouses to avoid the heat and the children had a wonderful time learning about different plants and their life cycles. Also on Tuesday, Early Years had a great forest school session together at Wimbledon Common keeping to the shady parts of the woods.

On Thursday, the Whacky Water Day in Early Years again featured a pool, squirters and water balls. It was the perfect way to cool down in the heatwave and have a lot of fun! Yesterday finished with the ice pop stall on the ramp which was very popular indeed.

Today’s Moving Up Day Assembly featured some classic baby pics of the staff and much excitement as the children found out their new class teacher and headed off for a morning with them.

NEXT WEEK

Next week, Nursery go down on the farm to discover farmyard animals at Hobbledown. As well as our regular Year 5 Soap Box presentations, M:Tech, our music technology club will be presenting in assembly.

On Tuesday, Dr Roche dons his linen suit again as he presents the prizes ranging from Art, Design and Technology to The Roche Approach and Endeavour. Due to space parents are unable to attend this event.

Also on Tuesday, Mr Lee and Miss Lydia will be taking the Year 6 Eco and Roche Approach Committees to our house charity, Regenerate’s youth centre to do a mixture of gardening and cooking a meal for the young people who go there.

Our amazing Year 6 Art Exhibition is taking place at Point Pleasant on Tuesday from 6pm-8pm – all parents are invited to attend.

On Wednesday, Year 5 parents are invited to an informal 11+ coffee morning in the main school hall. Some children and parents from Year 6 will be there to chat to them about not only surviving but thriving in the process! July and August birthday children will have their tea party that morning too.

Our school concert takes place at 2pm on Wednesday in the school hall. Parents are invited to attend to hear our choirs, orchestra and the winners of last term’s Eisteddfod.

Reception head to Birdworld on Thursday to discover all the different species and their habitats.

On Friday there won’t be a dry eye in the house as we say farewell to our Year 6 leavers in their last performance in assembly.

Friday also sees the month’s collection from Don’s Local Action Group. They are looking for toothpaste, shower gel, soap/hand wash, shampoo, bleach, washing up liquid or cleaning spray.
