Dear Parents,

Today’s assembly was our heartfelt farewell to our wonderful Year 6 pupils. They shared memories some funny, some touching and sang beautifully. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house!

Earlier in the week, on Monday, Wandsworth Nursery and Keswick House Nursery went to Hobbledown Farm. They had plenty of sunshine, an animal handling session where the children could touch a guinea pig, millipede and a tortoise. The Imaginarium provided a wonderful sensory experience and fun was had by all!

Miss Lydia and Mr Lee recently took a group of Year 6 pupils to the Regenerate Youth Centre for a fantastic volunteering opportunity. The children were split into two groups, with one team preparing a delicious spaghetti bolognese while the other worked hard in the garden, clearing weeds from a stone path.

The pupils embraced the experience with enthusiasm and thoroughly enjoyed giving back to their local community. The staff at Regenerate were incredibly grateful for the children’s kindness, hard work, and positive attitudes. It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to develop teamwork, responsibility, and a sense of community, and they should all be very proud of their efforts.

Wednesday’s concert was almost like a mini-show in its own right with four songs from ‘The Greatest Showman’ performed alongside the winners of our Eisteddfod playing and singing their winning pieces and the school orchestra. It was an uplifting end to the term. Thank you to Mrs Katie and her team for creating such a wonderful event.

On Thursday, I had the honour of joining Reception on their trip to Birdworld to discover interesting facts about our feathered friends and to meet a variety of species. The children loved it, as of course did Miss Lydia who has a particular penchant for flamingos!

FORS

We hope everyone had a fantastic time at the Summer Party!

A huge thank you to everyone who supported the Summer Fair. Whether you volunteered on a stall, donated prizes, baked cakes, helped set up or clear away, or simply came along to support the event, we are incredibly grateful. These events are only possible because of the generosity, enthusiasm and hard work of our school community.

We would also like to say a special thank you to our committee members and trustees for everything they have done throughout the year. They have given up countless hours behind the scenes to organise events, raise funds and support the school, and their dedication has made a real difference.

As we look ahead to next year, we are looking for new volunteers to join the FORS committee. Without parents stepping forward, it becomes much harder to continue organising the events that our children and families enjoy so much.

FORS is about far more than fundraising. It plays a vital role in bringing our school community together, creating opportunities for children and parents to socialise, build friendships and make lasting memories. At the same time, the funds raised help provide enriching experiences, equipment and opportunities that enhance every child’s time at school.

A final note from me:

As I write this final newsletter, I have been reflecting on what a privilege it has been to be part of such a special community for so many years. Having worked here in a variety of roles, I have always been amazed by the outstanding teaching, warmth and sense of belonging that make this school such a unique place.

Moving on after 16 years will certainly be a big adjustment, but I leave knowing that the passion, dedication and commitment of the staff will continue to shine through. I am incredibly grateful to all the colleagues, families and members of our community who have supported me throughout my journey here.

Most of all, I want to thank the children. They have been the reason this job has been the best job in the world. Their curiosity, kindness, humour and enthusiasm have brought joy to every day, and it has been an absolute honour to be part of their lives.

Thank you for everything – I will carry so many wonderful memories with me.

Have a lovely summer break.
