VAT and School Fees

We understand the anxiety that parents may be experiencing regarding the Government’s announcement on 29th July that independent schools should incorporate VAT on school fees from 1st January 2025.

Your children’s well-being and your peace of mind are our prime concern and, following discussion, we have decided to absorb the extra cost, so that the amount you will be paying for curricular teaching in this academic year (including VAT where applicable) will remain the same for each term - £6590 in the Lower School and £6760 in the Upper School. We will have to review the situation and the fees for the following academic year once there is more clarity from the government. We care deeply about our community and the future of The Roche School and will endeavour to mitigate costs while continuing to provide our high standard of education.

We will continue to review and monitor fees for each academic year, ensuring that any increases that may be necessary are fair, comparable and clearly communicated.

If a family has more than one sibling attending the main school in any term, the 2nd sibling has a reduction of 7% off the curricular fees and the 3rd and subsequent siblings have a reduction of 12%.

The fees are payable in advance and a term's written notice of withdrawal is required by the first day of the child’s final term, otherwise the next term's fees are charged. A deposit of £2,220 for the nursery and £3,900 for the main school is payable to reserve a place and this is deducted from the final account.
