Charity Run

Our annual charity fun run took place this year with tremendous success, bringing together the entire school community for a day of athletic achievement and charitable giving. The event went off extremely well, with students across all year groups participating with exceptional enthusiasm and spirit.

The day had a festive atmosphere, with children arriving dressed as different sports icons, creating a vibrant and exciting environment. The energy and excitement were palpable, with everyone having a fantastic time while supporting a worthy cause.

We were delighted to welcome representatives from our chosen charity, Linden Lodge School, a specialist institution that assists visually impaired children. Their presence added special meaning to the day and helped our students understand the impact of their fundraising efforts.

The event became a whole-school affair, with staff members, parents, teachers, and even Mr Gilbert joining in by completing several laps around the track. This participation from our school leadership demonstrated the community spirit that made the day so successful.

The event achieved remarkable results on multiple fronts. Our students collectively completed an astonishing 2862 laps, covering approximately 770 kilometres – roughly equivalent to the distance from London to Paris and back again! This impressive feat showcased not only the students’ physical dedication but also their commitment to the charitable cause.

Most importantly, the event raised a fantastic total of £6,114.84 for Linden Lodge School. This substantial sum will make a real difference to the lives of visually impaired children and their educational opportunities.

The success of this year’s Run For Us has set a high bar for future events. The combination of athletic achievement, community participation, and charitable giving created an experience that was both meaningful and memorable for everyone involved. We look forward to hosting our next charity sports event and continuing to support worthy causes while promoting health, fitness, and community spirit among our students.

The day served as a perfect example of what can be achieved when a school community comes together with a shared purpose – proving that sport truly has the power to unite and inspire positive change.
