The Roche School is proud to be promoting its exceptional Nursery and Reception classes in this short video, encapsulating what it is like to be a child in our Early Years.

The Early Years department is led by a team of experienced, dedicated and highly qualified teachers. The end of year results highlight the pupils’ higher than average progress and the staff have the expertise to sustain each child’s interests with a rich variety of topics and activities.

Wonder and excitement is established early on in the Nursery and Reception classes, allowing creativity to soar. Tasks are met head on, creating individual ways of solving problems. Friendships and trust are built quickly and children are provided with freedom to explore, whilst being guided where necessary. In Nursery and Reception, children are offered child-led, hands-on learning in a carefully prepared environment which is tailored to children’s enthusiasms and interests. The classrooms in the EYFS are beautifully organised and set up so that the children are enticed into exploring the activities on offer.

The video also explores the innovative concept of the Spanish Bilingual Stream, which runs alongside the traditional English class in Reception. Mornings in the Spanish Bilingual Stream consist of the same high quality curriculum in English as the English Reception class; afternoons involve lessons in Spanish based on the English curriculum and delivered by a fully qualified teacher with in-depth Spanish fluency. This stream will appeal to those interested in the numerous benefits of exposure to a foreign language.
